South Korean cuisine is a delightful blend of bold flavors, often centered around rice, vegetables, and meats like pork, chicken, and beef. Signature dishes include kimchi, a fermented vegetable side dish, bibimbap, a mixed rice dish with vegetables and a fried egg, and bulgogi, marinated beef grilled or stir-fried. The cuisine is known for its use of fermented ingredients like gochujang (chili paste) and doenjang (soybean paste), creating rich, savory flavors. Meals are typically served with multiple side dishes called banchan. The food reflects the country's deep-rooted history and culture, where balance, variety, and harmony are key.
